The 15-minute website message audit
A focused checklist to find where your homepage creates clarity—and where it quietly loses people.

Set the clock for fifteen minutes
Open your homepage and pretend you know nothing about the company. Do not explain the page to yourself. Only count what the page itself makes obvious.
The checklist
- Can you identify the customer in five seconds?
- Is the result more prominent than the process?
- Is there one clear next action above the fold?
- Does the page show proof near its important claims?
- Are section headings useful when read on their own?
- Does the language sound like your customers—or your internal meetings?
Score the gaps
Mark each answer as clear, partial, or missing. Fix the missing essentials first. A sharper opening section will usually create more value than polishing the bottom half of the page.
Good website copy reduces the effort required to understand, trust, and act.
